This film feels a lot like Wes Anderson’s ‘The Royal Tenenbaums.’ In the Meyerowitz Stories, an estranged family gathers in New York City for an event celebrating the artistic work of their father (played by Dustin Hoffman). Bonus Binge: Schitt’s Creek (Series)
You might remember Eugene Levy from classics like ‘Best in Show.’ He’s back, (and looking excellent, I might add) in this brilliant series. He also brings along his real-life son and daughter, and the iconic Catherine O’Hara. The uber-rich Rose family loses everything except a small town that John Rose (played by Levy Sr.) bought for his son as a joke. The family is plucked from their mega-mansion and dropped into a small motel in Schitt’s Creek, where they’ll try (not really) to adapt to a new life. Think Beverly Hillbillies in reverse. Four seasons of Schitt’s are currently streaming on Netflix. Try not to watch them all in one sitting.
